The programme aims to change the negative perceptions young people have about Agricultural Technical Vocational Education Training (ATVET). The program will also offer training, coaching, and education on various opportunities including jobs within Agribusiness and ATVET and its extended value chain.
Ghana Grows aims to target young people between the ages of 15 – 35, particularly women and people with special needs from both the formal and the informal sectors.
By providing exposure to opportunities within the Agric value chain and delivering work readiness, and soft skills training to persons within the target group. All these are with specific consideration to young women and persons living with disabilities.
The programme is set out to solve Ghana’s unemployment problem and seeks to bring down the numbers by helping place at least one hundred and fifteen thousand young people into fulfilling and dignified work
The future of work globally literally resides in the Agriculture, Agribusiness, ATVET sectors and their extended value chains. Various research reports suggest that food was one of the fastest-growing industries in Africa last year and is the space to watch within the next five years. This means there are viable opportunities in the food value chain the youth can explore.
The Ghana Grows programme through community engagement activations, will carefully use activities that push the Agric conversation to increase active youth involvement in Agriculture and Agric TVET sectors.
Also, through job training and engagement activities, young people will be inspired to deliberately choose careers and seek jobs in the Agric sector.
Ghana Grows is a co-creation by the Springboard Road Show Foundation in partnership with Mastercard Foundation and Lyme Haus.
Other members of the Ghana Grow consortium include Axis Human Capital Ltd, Densu Associates, and Meraki Arts Africa.
The programme will be implemented nationwide with a particular focus on 48 districts across all 16 regions in Ghana.
- A Call Center for young people to call in and make inquiries on jobs and make requests for counseling and training sessions.

Companies that sign up for the programme become listed as employers in search of young candidates to hire for specific roles within their organizations. By this listing, whenever there is an opportunity to engage a young person for employment, the organization will receive that posting.
Employees of the organizations listed receive training made available to their organisations by the programme.
Unemployed youth get access to job readiness training, access to a one-stop online portal they can refer to when searching for opportunities within the Agribusiness space, access to a call center they can phone in to find out about the industry, or receive counseling when they feel psychologically distressed.
The programme database can be accessed by young people who need assistance receiving specific industry tips and guidance, especially for those who choose paths in Agric entrepreneurship ventures. There is also access to Agribusiness entrepreneurs who have been empowered to provide mentoring and counseling for those who are new in the space.
Participation in the programme comes at no financial cost to the employee, the employee unemployed or the public in general.
